Kutjevo - Croatia
Kutjevo - wine capital of the Croatian mainland. The town is situated in a fertile Požega 'gold' valley on the southern slopes of Krndija and Papuk in a narrow valley of river Kutjevčanka. Famed Kutjevo wine cellar holds archival wines - well-known Kutjevačka graševina, Pinot Gris, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Riesling. Close to the cellar and winery complex is located beautiful castle Kutjevo, who is with underground passageway connected to the winery. It was once visited by famed Baron Franjo Trenk and Empress Maria Theresa.
Kutjevačko Vincelovo is a traditional and highly visited wine event that marks the start of pruning vines. On the town square of Riesling are baked Slavonian sausages and bacon, along to the famous Kutjevo wines, as the stage echoes tambura music band and guest singers singing groups.
