West from Bol lies the beach "Zlatni rat" and it is one of the largest and most beautiful beaches on the Adriatic. Like the tongue, which extends nearly half a kilometer into the sea, it's rising by sedimentation of small pebbles, changing its shape depending on the direction of the wind and waves. Bol is a paradise for surfers because of a favorable wind that blows constantly. Along the beach promenade are high-class hotel complexes and private apartments. The urban core is lined with baroque mansion, castle, church and squares. On the east side, on the mount Glavica, rises a Dominican convent, one of the most beautiful in Europe. Only two hours' walk from Bol are extremely valuable - Desert Blaca (the church and monastery from the 16th century) and "Dragon Cave" (a cave rich in reliefs, a source of Glagolitic priests).
