Fažana - Croatia

Fažana - magical little place in Istria...

The vicinity of classical Pula and harbor for ships that operate on the Brijuni islands make it an attractive destination. In ancient times the Roman patricians in Fažana and its surroundings have built their villas and cottages, processed olives, and the ancient name "Vasianum" received after the factory of amphorae that then existed.

Later, Fažana developed into a typical fishing village. This is evidenced by "Fishermen Fraternity of St.. Andrew" from the Napoleonic era, then one of the largest fish processing plant in Istra and today's "Small fishing academy Pilchard". Manifestations like the "School of salting pilchard", "More on the table," "Things that fishermen know," "Pilchard" represent, with the smell of fresh fish, cleaning nets and other fishing implements and the breath of the sea with the moles ... everyday Fažana waterfront.
