Knin - Croatia

A small town in northern Dalmatia, on the source of the Krka River, is a crossroads of road and rail routes between the Adriatic and Croatian land. Due to its favorable transportation position is often referred to as the Key to Croatia or Dalmatian Gate.



 A long and glorious past of the city testify Burnum - Roman military camp near the town of Knin and well preserved Knin fortress, symbol of the city, which had defended itself against numerous enemies. And that Knin was indeed had a glorious past, speaks for the fact it was the residence of Croatian kings who ruled the rest of Dalmatia and Croatian.


 Near Knin, in the village Pakovo is located Etnoland Dalmati where you can learn about customs and architecture of the Dalmatian hinterland along the most famous gastronomic delicacy - smoked ham. Transport and tourism in this region increases the convenience and proximity to national parks (Krka, Kornati, Paklenica and Plitvice) and Velebit Nature Park and the ornithological reserve Vrana.
