Hrvatska Kostajnica - Croatia

This is the old and proud city in Banija, accompanied by the clear river Una, surrounded by a rich chestnut woods, by which it got its name. Family Zrinski with their heroic battles with the Turks earned him a name - Defender of the Homeland.

The  well known holiday resort overlooking the city - "Djed" was declared a forest park. A hotel "Central" in the middle of the 19th Century is a wonderful Secession building. Along with "Carnival", "Kobasijada", "Art colonies" and summer events in the Una river, in the autumn the most important manifestation is the "Kestenijada", a brand and a synonym for Hrvatska Kostajnica!
