History of the city is long and rich, thanks largely to curative thermal springs, around which were gathered, worshiping them and built their settlements by many different nations. However, crucial for the development of the medicinal baths was the arrival of Count Anthony Jankovic 1745th on these areas. He named the city with the Hungarian name Daruvar (Crane city or, more accurately, Crane Castle).
In addition to already well-known spa, town fosters the image of the green city. It is decorated by flower gardens and centuries old trees, with their inherited and acquired value and beauty. Growing grapes is a centuries-old tradition because the gentle and sunny slopes of Papuk provide ideal conditions for wine production. Is thus maintained in Daruvar "Vinodar", exibition of continental Croatian wines.
