Klis - Croatia
For two millennia the key of Dalmatia and the true altar of the homeland Klis is the one of the largest and most important fortress on the Croatian territory. As a silent witness of Croatian tumultuous history, a symbol of struggle against the Turks, is an ideal place for an hour of history and geography in the open. Situated on the steep cliffs of Split offers unforgettable views with magnificent view of Split, Solin, Kastela and the islands of Brac, Solta, Hvar, Vis ...
In the oldest part of the Klis, at the foot of the fortress is located the church, three-aisled basilica of the centenary of monumental proportions, richly decorated with frescoes of biblical and historical scenes from the national and Klis history.
At only 10-kilometers from Klis is a pearl of the Dalmatian karst underground - Vranjaca Cave (rich in fantastic ornaments and underground halls).
