In the Krapina river valley to the peaks of hill Medvednica stretches the landscape of Croatian heros - Gornja Stubica. Statue of Matthias Gubec, the leader of a bloodily suppressed the Peasants' Revolt, the work of famous Croatian sculptor August Augustinčić. Statue dominates the Stubica valley. Also, there you can find a monument of the Croatian Homeland War aviator Rudolf Perišin, in whose honor the meeting is held every year, a magnificent cultural and sports event.
Right next to the parish church of St. Jurja with beautiful surroundings with more than 50 species of seedlings, is growing for more than 400 years Gupčeva cents (protected natural monument). It is associated with the legend about Gubec and the Peasant's Revolt 1573rd. In the noble castle of family Oršić in beautiful green surroundings is the Museum of Peasant Revolt. On the farm Lojzekova hiža and other restaurants you can enjoy local specialties of Zagorje cuisine (turkey with dumplings, Zagorje strudel, jaglena mash with crickets...).
